« Is Your Software Ready for Vista? | Main | ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 Has Been Released! »
My favorite music player appears to be gone for good.  I knew that Yahoo had purchased it, and it would only be a matter of time before it would be assimilated.  I'm a big fan of Yahoo Music Unlimited, but the Yahoo Music Jukebox pales in comparison to the features that MusicMatch had.  MusicMatch's music library management and Super Tagging features are the best I've ever used at updating MP3 tags, looking up track info, renaming files, and so forth.  I hope they bring it back.

Hey Dave,

Gone for good? Do you need a MM Jukebox that will work with Yahoo! music? I got MusicMatch to send me a Jukebox last year to try out Yahoo! Music To Go (I was a MusicMatch subscriber at the time). They had to change my account to a Yahoo! account but the Jukebox they sent me is the same great MM Jukebox just with Yahoo! colors and logos. I've never seen this one available for download from the Yahoo! site.

I still use it for all of its library goodness and only use iTunes to move music to my iPod since the iPod plugin for MM never worked right.

Thanks for the offer Erik. I've got a copy of the latest full version of MusicMatch, so I'm good. I've been running both players for a while now, and I don't mind. I use Yahoo for the subscription stuff and use MusicMatch for everything else.

Sounds good. Still sad to see the whole thing go away like that. MusicMatch has been around for a long time and one of those companies that started out in a basement. That's one of the whole reasons I bought the lifetime upgrade license. I wanted to support a small guy that had a great product. Good for the owners that they sold it to Yahoo! but sad for us in a way.
