As you may have guessed from my previous post, I've been on vacation.  We just got back tonight, and I've been catching up on some blog reading before heading off to bed. (Trips are great, but nothing beats sleeping in your own bed.)  I was pleasantly surprised to find that Paul Wilson has released v4.1.0.0 of his O/R mapper and Paul Welter has released v3.0 of his excellent CodeSmith templates.

I didn't think I was ever going to get it work, but I'm now connected from our cabin on the lake using my Sprint PPC-6601.  On the Pocket PC, you have to launch WModem and turn on the dial-up networking server for bluetooth or USB.  I got the bluetooth working for about 3 minutes, but it wouldn't stay connected.  What seems to work is the modem driver and dialer downloaded from GeekZone.  I also bought a USB sync cable from PocketSolutions (through their eBay store).

According to my dialer, I'm connected at 230.4 Kbps!

Be sure to visit all the options under "Configuration" in the Admin Menu Bar above. There are 16 themes to choose from, and you can also create your own.

I've transferred a couple of my domains to NameCheap.com.  So far, I'm impressed with their user interface and their customer service.  I especially like the WhoisGuard service that they are currently offering for free, which protects your contact information.  Instead of your contact information (name, address, and e-mail address) being public to anyone, they replace it with their contact information and a randomly generated e-mail address that forwards to your own.  You can also have WhoisGuard automatically change the random contact e-mail address ever XX number of days to really cut down on the amount of spam due to e-mail harvesters.

The first domain transferred within a few days without any issue.  However, the second domain stalled at the first step of sending an accept/reject e-mail to the registered contact.  This didn't work because the WHOIS for the domain didn't have the full contact information, but a message that read, "For complete domain details go to..." with a link to the current registrar's site.  I contacted NameCheap.com's customer support and within 24 hours the domain transfer was on track again.

FCKeditor 2.0 has been released.  I've been using the 2.0 FC (Final Candidate) for a couple of months now and don't have any complaints.  Check out the What's New page.

I'm in the process of transferring one of my domains to www.namecheap.com so that I can get a first-hand look at their service.  Anyone had experience using them?  They are currently running a special offer with any domain registration or transfer, you get a free one-year subscription to their WhoisGuard service.

I'll post a review after I've had a chance to use their service for a while.
